Make a wish and fasten your seatbelts. The
Atlantic Canada International Air Show is returning and as planes lift off at the former Canadian Forces Base
(CFB) Summerside on Aug. 27 and 28, so will a major ticket sales drive to support the Make-A-Wish
Foundation in
Atlantic Canada.
Not only will ticket sale
proceeds go to the charitable foundation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening conditions,
but a prize of two plane tickets to anywhere on WestJet’s regular schedule has been provided by the
sponsoring airline. Only the first 5,000 tickets sold will be automatically entered into the draw for this
prize. However, all tickets, which can be bought on Air Show Atlantic’s
website and at
co-sponsor Mark’s Work
Wearhouse’s Maritime
locations, will help support the foundation.
This year will be the first air
show at CFB Summerside since the beginning of the ‘90s. Its theme will focus on the 70th anniversary of the
founding of the base, which was originally created as a flight school during the Second World
War.
The Atlantic Canada
International Air Show takes off on Aug. 27 and 28 at Canadian Forces Base Summerside.
