The Suite Life

Experience Vancouver’s Highest level of Hotel Living

Jamie Daw | July 21, 2010

Towering over Vancouver’s skyline is the Fairmont Pacific Rim, a five-star skyscraper that adds a touch of luxury to the sophisticated cityscape. While most appreciate the impressive height of the building — the tallest in Vancouver — an educated eye will recognize the superior design and vision of architect James K.M. Cheng, the mastermind behind the Shangri-La Hotels.

The Fairmont Pacific Rim caters to a broad range of visitors with rooms that range in size from 400 to 3,200 square feet, all offering the warm and comfortable settings you’d expect from a Fairmont hotel. Some suites offer luxurious amenities such as private balconies, terraces and patios that allow guests to feel like Vancouverites for the duration of their stay. Some terraces even include outdoor fireplaces as an added touch to keep guests warm during the chilly Canadian winters.

The Chairman’s Suite at the Fairmont Pacific Rim was built with the vision of excellence in mind. Frequented by celebrities such as Lifestyle cover favourites Gordon Ramsay, Brad Pitt and Bryan Adams, this suite offers red carpet treatment to suit the most discriminating tastes.

The two-storey space covers 2,250 square feet and includes luxurious touches such as a romantic fireplace in the master bedroom, and an ensuite bathroom designed with beautiful marble features. With two living spaces, and an outdoor patio overlooking the magnificent Coal Harbour and beautiful Stanley Park, the suite offers the best views in the city. Boasting space for 60 guests, the outdoor venue offers a luxurious and elegant setting that is perfect for a private party or wedding.  The venue also has the option of an additional guest suite at 400 square feet to accommodate an expansive guest list.

The luxurious rooms are accompanied by Fairmont Gold services and benefits that promise an effortless stay. Private check-in, exclusive concierge and butler services, a signature lounge located on the 21st floor featuring daily complimentary breakfast, and evening canapés are only some of the benefits offered to lucky Fairmont guests.

While it may take some convincing to encourage visitors to leave their suites, the Willow Stream Spa offers an equally appealing array of services and features. Here, guests are invited to recharge their bodies and minds with treatments designed to rejuvenate and energize.  Services that offer pampering from head to toe are available for men and women, including facials, peel treatments, body experiences and massage therapy. For an equally relaxing experience, guests are invited to lounge by the pool, enjoy the sauna and reflect on their enjoyable stay during one of the fitness centre’s meditative yoga classes.
