Top 10 Romantic Vacations

Sometimes, life reminds us we need a break. It is important to listen to this request and even better, share the experience with loved ones. To help make this notion a reality, trip advisor has published their top 10 romantic vacation destinations for this year. Whether you need some time away with your spouse or are a fabulous single, these picks will help to find love in all the right places. As for myself, I haven’t crossed off too many places on this checklist, but hope that one day I can. 1) Paris: It doesn’t exactly come as a shock that the city “built for lovers” is first on the list. I have this picture in my mind of what it’d be like to go there, being very French and très happy. After all, what isn’t... MORE

All Around the world

Now, perhaps more than ever, touring the world has never been more accessible. The idea of signing up for one of these around-the-globe trips, as they’re called, is almost too exciting for me to handle. With the right know-how, any destination can be mine. Like their name suggests, the tours are planned to cover each of the continents. As if being a world wanderer weren’t glam enough, there are also a variety of packages designed to meet the interests and needs of different travellers. One of my favourites, courtesy of Flight Centre’s website, is called the City Escapade. Again, fairly self-explanatory. This trip would be very appealing to those seeking to find some of the world’s urban gems. The listed cities include London, Bangkok, Singapore, Perth, Sydney, Los Angeles... MORE

Nature Meets Luxury

In the heart of British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest lies a unique vacation destination that boasts five-star service and an environmentally friendly approach. It’s called “King Pacific Lodge,” but the term “cruise” is almost more appropriate: The 17-room lodge is actually set atop a barge that is towed into place every spring by Princess Royal Island. The beauty of the King Pacific Lodge, rated as one of the best ecotourism resorts in the world, is the complete immersion in its rainforest surroundings. To preserve the natural integrity of the site, guests meet with King Pacific staff in Vancouver before embarking on a short sea plane flight to the hotel’s isolated location. It’s no surprise that the lodge is a mecca for avid naturalists and photographers.... MORE

Sweet, Sweet Easter

Easter, like most holidays, can mean a lot of different things to a lot of people. When I was a child, Easter meant hunting for plastic, pastel-coloured eggs filled with chocolate treats. Over the years, nothing much has changed. I may not be crawling around backyards in search of chocolate-ly goodness these days, but I certainly still love to indulge in copious amounts of chocolate. This Easter weekend, do something a little bit different and go see the ... MORE
