The Zoe Effect

Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe launches new collection at Holt Renfrew

By Veronica Boodhan | September 23, 2011

There are a few things to know about Rachel Zoe. 1) She “dies” for fashion (evident in her colloquial use of the word, in reference to style). 2) Her last name is pronounced Zo (rhymes with Joe). 3) Never misspell her first name. It’s Rachel — not Rachael.

All and all, stylist and reality star Rachel Zoe knows her stuff. So much so that the celebrity stylist has actresses such as Anne Hathaway, Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson, just to name a few, on her speed dial (or at least as her go-to clients come awards season).

Now, Zoe is giving the average female a chance to be styled all on her own with her new women's clothing and accessories collection that recently launched at Holt Renfrew.

The collection, which includes clothing, handbags and shoes, ranges from $195 to $650 and features luxurious fabrics with tailored wool coats, faux fur jackets, fashionable separates, chic dresses, and sequins for a little glitz and glam — perfect for a night out on the town. Zoe describes the collection as “uptown chic and downtown cool infused with Parisian elegance and London street style.” Inspired by the chic era of 70s fashion, the collection captures vintage trends and couture at its finest.

Appearing at the Holt Renfrew flagship store on Bloor St., in Toronto in August, Zoe appeared ultra-chic in a black sequined dolman top, fitted black tuxedo pants and sky-high platform shoes. No one would have guessed that the stylist just gave birth to her first child, a son named Skyler, just five months prior.

Fashion never sleeps and lucky for us, Zoe continues to be busy in the fashion and television industry. Season four of her entertaining and drama-filled reality show The Rachel Zoe Project makes its Canadian premiere on Oct. 10.
