Many of us believe there’s
nothing worse than Monday morning, but there’s truly nothing worse than the Monday morning that follows
daylight savings.
Gosh, am I ever groggy. I’m sure you are too. If you’re not… then the rest of us are mad at you (but anger is
often a disguise for jealousy).
So, in the midst of my tired haze, I’ve looked up ways to get through the workday. Hope it helps!
• Get your caffeine. This almost goes
without saying, but people forget crazy things when they’re tired.
• Do your more challenging tasks as soon as you can. There’s almost no chance of doing well when the
mid-afternoon slump really gets you.
• Use breaks to get fresh hair, have a cold drink or splash water on your face. Or even nap for 15 minutes in
your car and set your phone alarm!
• Don’t have a heavy lunch. The energy it takes to digest something like pizza or a burger is an amount you
can’t afford to spend. Stick to fruits, veggies and light carbs.
• Stay away from emotionally tense situations: You’re bound to say something you normally wouldn’t. At this
moment I feel it’s appropriate for me to apologize to our graphic designer, Louis. Sorry, Louis, your
girlfriend is pretty.
• Don’t pressure yourself into doing housework when you get home tonight. Take that mental load off right now
and you’ll feel better in the present and the future. Sit back, relax and order in tonight. Then let that
tiring digestion knock you out into a much happier tomorrow.
Good luck everyone!
