It’s time to saddle up and head over to
the Barkerville Cowboy and Drover Jubilee. This historic gold rush town and largest historic site in British
Columbia is hosting a three-day festival from Sept. 9 to 11 to celebrate the province’s cowboy
heritage.
Back in the day,
Barkerville attracted miners from all over the world during
the gold rush era. Today, the town continues to draw in thousands of families each year in the prospect of
making golden memories.
The fest has something for
everyone. Enjoy musical performances by Butch Falk, Allen Christie, the Gordie West Band, and more, in three
music venues, including B.C.’s oldest wooden church. Or round up the gang at the cowboy poetry tent to hear
spoken word about life in the saddle from the townsfolk.
Barkerville accommodations and horse-friendly campsites are
nearby, making it a convenient and fun event for the whole family.
