Sometimes, life reminds us we need a
break. It is important to listen to this request and even better, share the experience with loved ones. To
help make this notion a reality, trip advisor has published their top 10 romantic vacation destinations for
this year. Whether you need some time away with your spouse or are a fabulous single, these picks will help
to find love in all the right places.
As for myself, I haven’t crossed off too many places on this checklist, but hope that one day I can.
1) Paris: It doesn’t exactly come as a shock that the city “built for lovers” is first on
the list. I have this picture in my mind of what it’d be like to go there, being very French and très happy.
After all, what isn’t there to tempt the senses, with its sights, culinary delights and haute
couture?
2) Venice: Not another surprising choice — if this city ever floods, my tears of joy will be
to blame. Moonlit walks are given the perfect setting, since cars are banned.
3) Maui: The perfect tropical paradise. While there, be
sure not to miss watching the sunrise atop their 10,000-foot volcano, swimming under waterfalls or just
hanging out at one of the many luscious beaches with a Mai Tai in hand.
4) New York City: Birthplace of Sex and the City — that is all I have to say.
5) Quebec City: To be honest, my eighth-grade history field trip came to mind at
first. But maybe a return trip will grow on me after meandering through the Old City on foot. The grand
Chateau Frontenac also awaits, with its jaw-dropping turrets and gables to admire.
6) Bermuda: Come on pretty mamma. Ok, so that was a lyric from a Beach Boys hit.
The private hidden coves and blushing beaches seem like the ultimate place for relaxation, solo or with that
special someone.
7) Santorini: It doesn’t get any hotter than spending your vacation time on an island
surrounded by underwater volcanoes. Seriously. Santorini, like many Greek isles, also boasts a luxurious
nightlife. By day, take in the ancient ruins and exhale.
8) Maldives: Heard lots of good stuff about this destination. Can’t wait to put this trip on
my itinerary, someday. I’m sure the vacationing experience doesn’t become more idyllic than spending it atop
the equator, with a full view of the Indian Ocean.
9) St Lucia: A honeymooner’s haven, no doubt. There’s a lot that draws visitors to this
picture-perfect Caribbean island, but the sulfur springs of volcanic Mount Soufrière are an opportunity not
to be passed up.
10) Las Vegas: Many a bachelorette parties have I attended in style here. Well, not too
many! Good times, ladies, good times.
