Martha Stewart Brand Finds A New Home

September 28, 2009

The Martha Stewart brand will have a new place to call home beginning in 2010.

Home Depot Inc. announced this month that it has teamed up with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. (MSLO) to develop a Martha Stewart-branded line of home improvement products that will be sold at Home Depot stores early next year.

That’s when MSLO’s retail merchandising deal with Kmart, which has sold the Martha Stewart Everyday home line since 1997, ends.

Products in the outdoor living category will hit U.S. stores in January and Canadian stores in February, while products in the home organization category will launch in February. All products will also be available online at homedepot.com.

The outdoor living line is expected to include patio dining and conversation sets ranging from $399 to $1,999. Meanwhile, the home organization line will include a new closet organization system and a nine-cube organizational unit.

Additional products are in development and will also be available in 2010.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with The Home Depot, the largest home improvement retailer in the world," Stewart said in a press statement.

“Partnering with The Home Depot allows us to offer a wider audience the product and 'how-to' information they need to complete all of their home improvement projects.”

The Home Depot operates more than 2,200 retail stores worldwide.

Martha Stewart products are also sold through Macy’s Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and other retailers. – Eva Lam
